In March 2018, the International Board and FIFA validated the use of video technology (VAR: video assistant referees) for the 2018 World Cup.<\/p>\n

Ten years ago, who would have bet in favor of such a scenario?<\/p>\n

Probably not many people, except a few video advocates who had anticipated the advent of this technology in football.<\/p>\n

Among these advocates was LEGISPORT, which had initiated several petitions for the use of video.<\/p>\n

As of today, however, offside is still excluded from video. In their most recent petition, LEGISPORT (by Me Michel Pautot) asked for the generalization of video in the following situations: goal line, sending off a player, handball, penalty kick, brutality and offside positions.<\/p>\n
